The brief
Egyptian street food, made for a restaurant
Egyptian street food is generous, social and full of flavour. The challenge was to keep that spirit in a restaurant setting without losing what makes it accessible.
Bahreez was created alongside Pan Jan as part of our wider engagement with Al Mathaaq, which also included reviewing and supporting the management of the group’s existing restaurant portfolio.
What we did
The complete concept, from positioning to operations
We led the concept’s complete development, from its positioning and menu to the way the restaurant would run.
Positioning
A clear place in Jeddah’s dining scene: authentic Egyptian flavours with modern presentation and accessible pricing.
Menu structure
A menu of recognisable, authentic dishes, structured for sharing and presented in a modern way.
Food and beverage
The full food and drink offer, built around an open kitchen at the heart of the room.
Service style
A lively, social service style to match the energy of the food.
Guest journey
From the terrace and entrance to the counter and the table, planned around how guests would arrive, order and linger.
Operational requirements
The kitchen, equipment and team the concept needed to run well, defined alongside the design.

The result
A complete concept, ready to build
Bahreez gave Al Mathaaq a fully developed concept: positioning, menu, food and beverage offer, service style, guest journey and operational requirements, with the design direction captured in renders and elevations.
